Professor László Rosivall, MD., PhD., DSc., Széchenyi and Khwarizmi prizes laureate, (1949), is the head of International Nephrology Research and Training Center, Department of Pathophysiology, and PhD School of Basic Medical Sciences, Semmelweis University and the first Nephrology PhD Program in Hungary. He is active-member of European Academy of Sciences and Arts, Honorary Doctor of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Tirgu-Mures, and Honorary Member of Polish Nephrological Society. He has served several prestigious positions as: President of Semmelweis University; President of the Worldwide Hungarian Medical Academy; Treasurer of the International Society for Pathophysiology; Council Member of International Society of Nephrology. He is Founder and President of the Hungarian Kidney Foundation and the Budapest Nephrology School and of the Roma Medical Education Program. He brought experiences from the Bergen, Birmingham, Harvard, Montpellier, Heidelberg, Tulane Universities. His research interests cover renal hemodynamics, renin-angiotensin system and renal fibrosis from molecules to bedside. He serves in editorial boards of 15 peer-reviewed journals. Publications: 170 articles, 75 chapters, 4 textbooks, 1 small monograph, 2 patents, IF: 358,082 citation 3021, Hirsch-index 29 (www.mtmt.hu). His life is dedicated to the development of nephrology from molecules to bedside by educating a new generation of skilful nephrologists. He raised 28 PhDs in nephrology.
